The Mission of the Scouts is to train leaders for the future.

What is This Ministry About?

The Boy Scouts of America was incorporated to provide a program for community organizations that offers effective character, citizenship, and personal fitness training for youth.

Specifically, the BSA endeavors to develop American citizens who are physically, mentally, and emotionally fit; have a high degree of self-reliance as evidenced in such qualities as initiative, courage, and resourcefulness; have personal values based on religious concepts; have the desire and skills to help others; understand the principles of the American social, economic, and governmental systems; are knowledgeable about and take pride in their American heritage and understand our nation's role in the world; have a keen respect for the basic rights of all people; and are prepared to participate in and give leadership to American society. The Boys Scouts of OLG additionally emphasize God and spiritual life.

When Does This Ministry Meet?

The troop meets every Wednesday of the month in the school cafeteria from 7:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Any parent or person is usually welcome to pitch in and help with a boy or cub scout pack, and there are no formal requirements for periodic or temporary assignments. But to serve in an ongoing role, you must register as an adult volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America by submitting an adult leader application, which must be approved by the pack, the local council, and the national office. The requirements are listed on the official website of the Boy Scouts of America website.
