Purpose of This Ministry

The purpose of the Babysitting Ministry is to help provide babysitters for young children during parish events.

What Is This Ministry About?

What the Babysitting Ministry is NOT is a private babysitting service. We do not provide sitters for homes or families. We also do NOT provide nursery service during Mass services.

We DO provide babysitting for other ministries that have parents with young children attending events or meetings. Instead of having to track down babysitters on their own and making sure of the legal requirements for each event, they can turn to this committee as a pool of trained people willing to help out.

Who Can Volunteer for This Ministry?

This ministry needs volunteers and we would like to see dozens of people sign up for this ministry so that there would not be undue burden on a few individuals.

Requirements to be an OLG Babysitter are as follows:

• Background check,
• VIRTUS training; and
• Babysitter training provided by the parish.
