Young Adult Ministry

Mission Statement

The mission of the Young Adult Ministry is to provide a forum for young adult parishioners to socialize and to share and grow in their faith.

Who Can Join This Ministry?

The OLG Young Adult Ministry is open to all young adults, ages 18-30, (single, married, or divorced) interested in getting to know others their own age, as well as developing their personal relationship with God, within the context of the Catholic Christian tradition, through;

• Scripture Study, — We meet every Monday from 7:00—9:00 p.m. in Lower-Level Madonna Hall to share what's going on in our lives and to study the coming Sunday's Gospel reading, pray together, and stay late socializing!
• Social Gatherings — We plan socials once a month, with many other "informal" social opportunities throughout the year;
• Retreats — We also offer both a fall and spring retreat for young adults and by young adults;
• Adoration — Many of our young adults reserve the Thursday 11:00 p.m. through midnight Holy Hour, in the perpetual Adoration Chapel, as a personal and communal hour of prayer; and
• Liturgy — The second Sunday of every month, OLG hosts the Archdiocesan Young Adult Mass at the 6:00 p.m. Mass, with a reception immediately following in lower level Madonna Hall.

This ministry is also very involved in Archdiocesan young adult ministries such as:

• Theology on Tap,
• Young Adult Mass,
• Catholic Young Adult Network, and
• Frassati,
• as well as frequently volunteering for service at OLG.
